Myanmar Benefit Concert – Geelong 2008

on Sunday 15th June 2008 a concert was held at Barrabool Hills Baptist Community Church to raise funds to support victims of the recent tragedy in that country.

3 bands performed and the night was a great success raising over $15,000

Sorry no piccies (my camera was out of action) but the recordings I captured are great and really captured the evening. Also a great job performed by the guys in the audio/media team with the sound and lighting!

The Gospel Chapel Band

goto www.myspace.com/thegospelchapelband for more info.

They have been featuring the gospel songs of Bob Dylan of late. This was a great set and I really liked “Ring Them Bells”

Mike McCarthy

He also played with Sons of Korah

This set was just Mike on acoustic guitar. Some great blues playing.

All these recordings were captured with my small electret binaural mics and Sony minidisk recorder

Hello. I’ve added your blog to my blogroll on my site and also to the ‘blogsurfer’ function so I’ll know when you put a new one up. I’ve downloaded Mike McCarthy and I’ll have a listen.
